Sara and Sean's Story

Sara Bess had served in the Air Force before becoming a stay-at-home parent to her four children. She and her husband Sean, who is still serving in the military full time, wanted to find a business they could run from home—while offering a beneficial service to the community. When a friend told her about franchising opportunities with Neighborly®, Sara was impressed with the support, structure, marketing expertise, and business outlook for the industry.

In 2015, she opened Mosquito Joe® of Northwest Florida. “Initially it was a retirement plan for my husband from the Air Force,” Sara said, “but now it has become something I’m proud of and enjoy running while he still works full-time.”

Being a franchise owner empowers us almost daily, from lifting up our employees (taking them to lunch or dinner) to helping our community by giving back. We love that ownership has allowed us to do those things.
